Requesting Early Release of Prisoners Due to Coronavirus
Filing a petition for early release
At the Trbovich Law firm, we understand the concern that you have for family members that are incarcerated during the outbreak of the coronavirus (Covid-19). We pride ourselves on being a local, community based firm that can help the individuals and families of Western New York, Buffalo, Amherst, and surrounding cities attempt to gain early release for certain at risk individuals that are currently incarcerated. Unfortunately, with this process, there are no guarantees. What we can guarantee is that we will work hard for you and your family member, the same as if it were our own family member we were protecting.
Steps we will take:
On behalf of your loved one, we will work directly with the District Attorney and Judges. Our firm will then file a comprehensive, compelling, detailed petition to the court to show just cause for early release from the original sentence. No one should have to needlessly suffer in custody with a pre-existing medical condition that makes them more susceptible to suffer life threatening consequences from the coronavirus. The virus is spreading throughout our communities and our firm wants to help in any possible way that we can for your family member or loved one.
Who qualifies?
In order for a client to qualify for our firm filing such a petition for early release from custody, there needs to be the following three (3) criteria met:
the individual is in custody for ONLY non-violent crimes
the individual must have served at least 50% of their sentence
the individual must have an underlying health/medical condition that would predispose that individual to a much higher risk of contracting Coronavirus COVID-19
If you have any questions or believe that your friend, family member, or loved one qualifies for early release, please call our firm today at 716-634-4646 to discuss options to file a petition.
